Suspension sits low and odd knock sound driving over bumps

Sometimes when I drive over a bump I heard a knock around the rear passenger door. What could be causing this?? I can't seem to figure it out. It almost sounded like the door was loose and was moving up and down.

Anyone ever have this?

Also I notice the vehicle sits low, I can't make it over a speed bump without it grinding against the exhaust system. Is there a way to raise the suspension? To me it sits pretty low. The shocks were worn out, I replaced them but didn't make a difference.

I have a 4 door 66 beaumont.

Thanks!

Have you inspected the condition of the body-frame bushings? ...When I replaced mine, it raised the car's ride height by almost 1.5"

Last time I checked they were cracked up. Will definitely replace. Hopefully it helps.
