Hood Hinges 1962 Pontiac

Hinges are worn out will not stay up properly or adjust . Other forms suggest SMS in eastern US been sold, they have Canadian tool free goes to Quebec  they now just sell new hinges ,no repair of oem .  What new ones are any good?  Have set from H&H not good one is really loose already. Anyone know of either new ones or repair shop?   Or will 1963 hinges fit if you change the mount bracket, 63 hinge looks better engineered  Laurie

I don't know about reproduction Pontiac hinges, but those who have bought the Chevy ones say they are junk. There is a fellow in the US who rebuilds them, might be $200US for a set. He also refinishes them. If interested, I could see if I can find his contact info.

Weld up the holes and drill new holes in the same place.......should last another 55 years.

I sent my 1960 Pontiac hinges to Willie Wilson when I was restoring it. He did a very good job. Hood alignment issues were solved.

The hinges are back from Willie, they look great. In the mean time repaired left door hinge wow what a job remove fender only one rusted bolt cut off wheel fixed that had to remove front bumper after that easy job! Putting hood hinges/hood on later car on stands going to do front springs first. Cost $200 including paint . Laurie
