trim 512 ??? cannot find this anywhere

paint 357 ???  (existing colors are body light powder blue rooftop dark cobalt blue)

Here's what Std Catalog of Canadian Car I.D. Numbers has to say:

model 25-69WD = Chieftain, DeLuxe 6, 4 door sedan, 6 passenger

serial number 32569WD00001 and up ( yours is quite possibly the 3rd produced ... or did you make a typo and its the 83rd? )

engine number W219001 and up ( yours is quite possibly the 211th produced )

trim 512 doesn't show in this book

paint 357 I'll take from memory as being horizon blue ( I had a 53 Chev , American built convertible that had a US code 503 that translated to the Cdn 357 code. )

I'm also going to send you a PM asking for some personal history on the car as I may know some of its history.

These descriptions have been updated/corrected due to errors in the reference source.

hello noroncan,

yes a typo should be  83rd produced , the numbers 8 , 9 and 6 along with letters y p stick.

i replied to your pm. it was found in the temagami ontario area.

i am having trouble deciphering the transmission in the car, i need a seal for the front of it to stop it from bleeding.

hello again,
i took out a " 1954 Pontiac master parts catalogue ", the book contains parts "UP TO " 54 and also has written on the cover PONTIAC MOTOR DIVISION Pontiac, Michigan. so i would lean to believe the parts are american numbering??
this is what i found:
1953 pontiac color numbers
color number 5318
upper caravan blue (stand alone code is 5301)
lower stardust blue ( stand alone code is 5308)

Trim Combinations
model 2511D-69D color 1953 cloth comb.no. 5360
"light blue pattern cushions and upper seat backs, solid dark blue lower seat backs."
now m sons car has a medium solid blue seat backs and door panels are medium blue and light blue. these all appear to be original. the drivers seat a is the only worn through area the rest of the interior cloth works is clean and with a great even patina throughout.
cheers,
amedeo
