And this girl is so much fun to talk to because of her enthusiasm about the car. Her dad is there with his show truck too, you can see where she got it from!

Carl, i am sad to hear that you dislike tri five Chevy's so much. They have always been on the top of my list, since i was a kid. That 56 Bel Air sport sedan (4 door hardtop), i would be all over and it would make a prime resto project. I had a 57 version of that car from 1984 to 2005. Different strokes for different folks, that's what makes the world go round. Cheers. George

I was in the "Barn Finds" which was ok. However, on my data card they had written "58-69 Restored". Friday I spent a good part of the day trying to explain to people that what they had written on the card was wrong, my car is NOT restored. Finally I stuck a piece of masking tape on the card that said "Unrestored", right underneath what they had written. Still had issues with people questioning why it said both.
Friday night I took an 8 12/ by 11 page and in large bold letters printed off UNRESTORED. Saturday when I got to the show, I stuck that page on the 1/4 window. From then on it was no problem and people spent a lot of time looking over the car.
I now appreciate much more how fortunate I am to have been able to buy this car. When the seller showed up at the show on Saturday night (after I emailed him to let him know it was there) I thanked him at least 3 times for selling me the car. I guess it took a whole bunch of people telling me I had an amazing car for me to actually realise I'm a lucky guy.
My former 67 Nova SS 327 Arizona car got first in the "Barn Finds" "Traditional" category apparently.
And our member "Fake68" got 2nd in that category I believe with his matching numbers unrestored L78 Nova.
Here's a shot of those two taken when I got there early today. The whole east side of our area is glass, it was wonderfully bright in there.
As nice as it was that my car received a lot more positive attention than I ever dreamed it would, that was not the highlight of the weekend. By far the highlight was hearing all the fun car stories.
One that I heard---
"My dad had a 65 Custom Sport 409 when I was as teenager in the Ottawa area. One weekend I asked if I could borrow it to go to the races. He let me on the condition that I not take it down the strip. Of course when I got there, I entered it. Sure enough, I won a trophy!
I got home that night and hid the trophy, thinking I had kept it a secret. But of course, someone from his workplace had seen me and approached dad at work the next week saying "I had no idea your car is so fast!" Dad questioned him and figured out real quick that I had raced it.
That night we were watching TV and dad just calmly said "So when are you planning to show me the trophy?!!!!!!
I got grounded from driving the car for a couple of weeks."
I bet his dad was secretly proud of him!!!

I just found a link that shows a lot of the section my car was in. You'll see a few different videos that Global News did. One of them has great shots of Fake68's L78 car. One of the interviews has my car in the background between the reporter and the show chairman. Overall it gives you an idea how the show looked. Hopefully it works for you.

You'll have to scroll down, click on "Show More Videos" and then ope "World of Wheels". There's a few different videos.
