I needed a power steering hose, ordered it yesterday from Rockauto, it shipped yesterday from the Bronx, NY. It's supposed to be here by Sep 8th.

 

It cleared customs in Burlington at 6:30 today, wow. Coming Canada Post too..............biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin May be here by friday at this rate. Shipping was $11.22 CDN and I used my Canadian Poncho 5% discount code.

I've always found that the actual shipping time is much less than their guesstimate.
Rockauto also sends out other 5% discount codes but please use the one specific to CP as it lets them know we are paying attention.

.....recv'd L/F hub (Timken) for '07 F150 Aug 28, Rock Auto estimated Aug 31. Ordered it Aug. 20.

Approx. $120. cheaper than local supplier and used CP discount code.......and easy to re/re.

I found the cost of shipping to be extremely high, is there a way to get a better rate?  Items in cart total to just over $180, shipping was quoted at $320 CAD and delivery Oct 4.

I have always found the ground rate shipping through Rock Auto very reasonable and I have ordered lots of product from Rock Auto.  It will give you shipping rate choices to select from and look to see which warehouse the parts are coming from.  Try to combine parts orders from the same warehouse to save if possible, apply your Poncho 5% discount in the "How did you here about us" when ordering and my cheapest rate ground orders always seem to arrive before the posted date.

I have had good success from Rock Auto.

Some items can't be shipped cheaply from Rock Auto like body panels or heavy parts (brake drums etc). Funny story; I had to get a front wheel bearing from a local parts retailer for our work HHR a few weeks ago. The power was out when I arrived. The guy behind the counter went to Rock Auto to get the part number and then used their retail price and added a percentage markup to come up with a price. He used his phone and didn't realize I knew it was Rock Auto he was using!

Ive always had low shipping costs by my standards, and Todd Ive had good auto parts counter guys use rockautos site to look up parts and part numbers.

 x2! I haven't ordered for over a year. Every time I want to order more than 1 part..say 3.. they are all shipped from different locations! Even when I order 1 small part,most times the shipping costs are more than the part. Maybe it's because I'm out west?? Or maybe they are marking up shipping?? Used to order all the time,,,then shipping jumped...

Just placed an order for 2 shocks and a washer pump. Took care to ensure all are shipping from same location.
Shipping was quite reasonable considering shocks do have some weight to them.
Says will be here on Friday which is only 4 days away. Coming FedEx from the Bronx.
Used the discount code ( almost forgot until I saw the " how did you find out about us " box )
