I cleaned off the grease on the 3 member on the P.S between the vert bolts and found C27 stamped. On the D.S I found a round disc. mounted under one of the nuts but had no info. on it.On the Chevy sites they state two letters were used to determine the ratio but the Canadian made ones must be different.Does anyone know why the round disc. is there with no numbers/letters stamped on it?
I don't have the code info you are asking about, but in general terms for 1957 (they year they switched to 14" wheels) the rear ratios were 3.36:1 (automatic), 3.55:1 (manual), 4.11 (manual with overdrive).

X 2. These were the only ratio's for 57 for U.S. and Canadian Chev and Canadian Pontiac for the passenger car.
