1957 Safari rear shock mount

Has anyone here installed a rear shock mount(bar) to help take the stress off the  upper sheetmetal mounting area?sure looks like a poor design from the factory.Just asking because I am thinking of installing a pair of air shocks and want better/stronger upper supports.

Thanks

All the tri-five Chevy repro houses sell a kit to do it, and it'll fit the Canadian Pontiac. Alternatively, it wouldn't be a big project to fab something.

I know you can get a shock relocation bar for passenger car sedans and hardtops (the length is different) but i am not sure about station wagons. I sold one that i had bought for my 57 Pontiac because i was not happy with the way the shocks were so close to the tail pipes after the bar went in.
