1964 Beaumont Engine Code

Hi:

I am looking at a 1964 Beaumont that has either engine code "TV281874" or TY281874" the second number is hard to read. The owner was told that the motor was orginal, but I thought it should have a 289 C.I. chevy most.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

According to GMVVS the original 283 in my 64 Beaumont SD had a 9 digit number. Each digit was a number, no letters.
