I'm about to undertake the restoration of an incomplete and rusty, but rare, 69 2+2 427 L36M20 convertible. But I really need a second car to make this work.
A couple of years ago I sold a decent rust-free 69 2+2 for about $6000 that I sure wish I had back now!
If anyone has any leads, let me know. The car I'm restoring was blown apart and I'm sure lots of little stuff was lost, so I need a car. The rear fenders are shot so ideally I need a rust-free convertible parts car... but that doesn't sound too likely.

Too bad you weren't in the market last year when my old Laurentian came up for sale. It has fantastic sheet metal, chrome and mint 427 emblems. $6500 would have bought it. I have no idea where it is now.
In reality to make a 390HP 4 speed 2+2, this is probably where you need to go...but would you do this? At least you don't have to drag it across the border.
I don't think I need a $10K car, and I don't know that the green one -is- a $10K car. I need a complete, rust-free Laurentian or Parisienne or Strato 2-door, that's really about it. I have the whole interior, all of the hard to find 2+2 parts, and so on. But I need rear quarters and a million little items.
I've heard through the grapevine that this particular green 2+2 was pretty rusty and the repairs may not be the best... I notice the louvers are a little off, I think.
I'll address it in another thread, but I think I may have to "build" the grail car before I restore it, swapping parts over from a donor until I then have a complete assembled car to take back apart and restore...

Looking closer, the trunk pan looks poorly repaired. So yes, it probably was pretty rusty as you suggest. Something suitable will come up at some point.
