Re 1967 Strato Bench and strato bucket seats- are the seat backs interchangeable? In other words, if I took the entire seat backs with headrests off a set of bucket seats, would those seat backs be perfectly suitable to bolt on to the Strato Bench seat bottom?
Next question. Anybody have a strato bench seat for sale? The proper 2 door style that folds forward? How much should I expect to pay for one in decent condition? My idea is to reupholster a Strato Bench in the proper gold vinyl and soft gold insert material to match my back seat. I believe the materials are reproduced? If not, I might have enough material in my two sets of seats to make a good Strato Bench.
One more question. Would mounting hardware be the same for standard bench and Strato Bench? (Non power seats)

I think so, but you have to use the hinges from the Strato bench if I am right

Personally, I'd say anything under $100 is a steal, $100-$200 is probably still a fair deal and over $200 is likely getting up there in price. Of course, it all depends on condition. Over $200 would still be fair if it isn't in need of any spring repairs, foam repairs, if the plastic pieces on the side of the armrest are there and not broken.

The brackets attached to the floor are unique to Strato Bench.

If you just want a builder core, I have a disassembled 67 Strato Bench with all the hard parts except armrest hinge covers and manual tracks, but have the 4 way power seat system for it.
Truth is, unless your super lucky you'd probably have to start from scratch anyway. Besides the usual ripped covers, the burlap, foam and cotton padding is usually pretty wasted, necessitating all new materials and a full rebuild to make it right.

Thanks Carl. I would have exoect d a bit higher prices for the Strato Bench seat at each level of condition. Thank you for being so helpful to me!
Mark- you and I seem to have a lot in common. Too bad about the distance between us. Ill think about that Strato Bench. I found one across the border but he wants big bucks.
The order form I captured a pic of awhile back says the Strato Bench was only available in the Grande in 67 but id sure like to replace the standard bench seat in my Parisienne with one of these. Much more comfortable I would imagine. And it would give me an opportunity to go with headrests which might be important for my spinal column at my height! Does anyone know what it would be possible for me to get the correct two materials to reupholster a straddle bench just like the picture? I believe that the vinyl shouldnt be a problem but what about the fabric stuff in the inserts?
One thing I will tell you, don't expect wonders from the 67 seats and headrests as far as your back. I know I'm a lot shorter than you at 6'1" but the level of comfort is nothing compared to the cars of today. However, to me, the Strato Bench is far and wide the most stylish and most comfortable seat of it's time.
I am betting there's fabric out there to do the seat the way you want.
I may grab the 67-68 4 dr ht Strato Bench that I know of in a yard. It wouldn't surprise me that there would be a way to put bucket hinges into it. GM is very good with interchange stuff like that.

A couple more points to consider, the strato bench sits higher than a regular bench due to the special mounting pads required, and the strato bench is not as wide as the regular bench due to the fact that they fit into A body cars too.
