I have this quarter panel for a '69 Catalina (will also fit Parisienne & 2+2) currently listed on Ebay. Shipping this thing will be a challenge to say the least. I thought if someone wanted it and we could use the Blue Water Bridge (Port Huron, Michigan to Sarnia, Ontario) as a point of transfer.... This is for a hardtop, but could easily be trimmed for a convertible. Price is $800 USD delivered to the border.
I sure might, I just need to be convinced it's useful for a 2+2, then it'd be perfect! I'm afraid though that the Catalina fender might only match from the bottom seam down, or something like that.
Has anyone used a US fender on a Canadian car before? I've heard from people that would seem to know that they are interchangeable, and it would make sense from a costs perspective to have used a single stamping, but never heard of it being done!
I found a used right that would make a good companion to this. I just don't have a car yet to even see what I actually need so am a bit gunshy given how hard these are to ship, otherwise I'd stockpile!
sorry this is off topic but im looking for pass side quarter panel for my 69 parisienne 2dr ht would anyone know if an impala one is the same i only need from the side trim down i ask becouse carid has impala quarters $222 shipped to my town in alberta only $505 !and i read somewhere that american pontiacs just arnt the same and i dont want to buy one to find out thx guys !
I sure would like to grab this if I could (a) find a way to get it here, (b) ensure it matches my car, and (c) find it's twin for the other side!
So far as I can read my scan, here are the part numbers for the Canadian quarter panels. If anyone could match ANY of them up to a US number, we'd have our answer.
I looked up the 1970 Catalina & Bonneville quarter panels in my US parts books, and the part #'s don't jive with what Carl posted from his Mitchell manual. I'd sure like to see what a US Pontiac parts book shows for 1969.
I know when a 1970 quarter panel was posted previously, the part #'s jived between my US & Cdn parts books for Catalina vs Parisienne.
I dug into this a bit more, and can really only speak to 1970. The Mitchell manual info posted by Carl doesn't seem right. For 1970, my US & Cdn parts books agree that the drivers (left) side quarter panel for a 2 dr hdtp is 9818107. That's regardless of whether it's a 2dr hdtp 2+2, Parisienne, Laurentian, Strato-Chief or Catalina.
Does someone have a US B-Body Parts book that covers 1969? It'd be in section 12.940, and should be 8789739, as indicated by the info provided by davepl. (1st column is right/passenger side of car, 2nd column is left/driver side of car)
I'm not sure what to say. I checked the 8789712 and 8789713 and that number never changed up, was eventually discontinued. I have found Mitchell part numbers in those books to be extremely accurate.
Another mystery...

Why not get Robert (the seller) to measure and compare the NOS panel to his 69 Convertible?
Ok, this 69 quarter panel question has been on going so maybe some reasonable thinking is needed. Clint has said the numbers for Canadian and American B-body quarters for 1970 are the same. I have absolutely NO reason to think that the same isnt true for 1969. Why would GM spend re-tooling costs for the Canadian model when the idea was to save $$? I bought this quarter for a back-up panel if damage ever occurred to my car, but am now opting to sell it. It is exactly the same. I need NO convincing that they are the same. Take it for whatever that is worth. Shipping this thing, however, that is the real problem!
- True for 1970 if the reported numbers are right, but nothing conclusive for 1969 -
I would assume the panel Robert has is 8789712, which is going to be Catalina. But I've seen nothing yet to indicate that 8789712 will fit a Parisienne. Other than it would if it were a '70.
