Window regulators


gday punters!

is there any identifying marks, numbers etc that enables one to identify what they came out of? Eg right hand front door regulator for a 65 convertible, say...

Not really but if you dig back in the 65-70 full size body forum I think there should be pictures of a set of hardtop regulators that I posted a few years back. The door regulators would be the same as hardtop I think. I know the quarter regulators are different.

I have a set of 67 hardtop (4 door pillarless) front regulators but they are different to my 65 vert regulators. I also have a half a dozen electric regulators but have no idea what they have come out of...

Great thread that! I did a power window conversion on a 65 pillarless 4 door i had. Pulled them out of a 65 buick 225 4 door Plus door trims, handles, armrests and other odds and sods. Used the trim chrome and armrests in the pontiac. The rear regulators were very close as the buick rear doors are longer. Just had to shorten one or two of the cross arms as they ere the same angles, just longer. All mounting holes were dimpled to suit new handle, and armrest points. Rear armrests just cleared the seat so the door closed correctly. Made new aluminium trim and installed magna window switches would you believe. Came out really well.
