Long stroke

As always, dealing with a Canadian Poncho member has been flawless. Longstroke is no exception. I really enjoy being able to send stuff out and know the payment will follow. I've done it with so many trusted members here now I've lost count.

I don't do it for total strangers on here but most of you guys are already family.

Thanks George!

Living honest is the ONLY way to live. Carl, thanks for the kind words and thanks for the bunch of GM oil filters you sent me. Even with the cost of shipping, still a super deal for the nine oil filters. I now have nine years worth of oil filter changes on my 74 Chev 400 V-8. Cheers. George

I've also dealt with George buying parts from him and pestering him with questions privately. He is good people, and an asset here at CP!

Yup, George is a real straight up car guy. I first dealt with him back in 1986 thumbsup.gif

Cameron, has it been that long. Man i am feeling old right now. You bought some Pontiac dealer brochures off me then. Do you remember what the brochures were and do you still have them. Cheers.

Of course! 1965 Acadian & Beaumont, 1965 Pontiac, 1966 Pontiac, 1968 Pontiac, 1969 Beaumont, 1969 Pontiac. At the time you kind of had seller's remorse, saying that the money could buy some beer but then it would be gone. I also considered 1969 Buick, 1966 Dodge pickups, 1966 Dodge Coronet, 1964 Studebaker from you. At the time you were advertising in the National Old Car Auto Trader. You had the 1957 Chevy Bel Air Sport Sedan while your brother had a 1968 Beaumont with Chevelle front & rear styling, plus your dad had the 1974 Caprice Classic Estate. I seem to recall a white Chevy G-van as well. I came out to Camperdown Ave. for the grand tour.

At the time I was working in Mississauga. It was funny but right after I bought them I saw what could have been very the Maise Yellow Beaumont convertible from the brochure in person getting gas at Dundas & Dixie. It had a 307 Powerglide and was in excellent shape. Earlier, perhaps around 1981/82 I saw a Beaumont Custom wagon in Crystal Turquoise just like the one in the brochure but derelict, down an alleyway in East Hamilton close to Gage Park.

I should will these things to you.

Cam, your memory has no equal and i am amazed at your attention to detail. All of what you said is true but i do not remember the "beer" part and i would have been joking. I had hundreds of dealer brochures but now very few. Over the years i have sold over 80% of my collection. I will never part with any of my 57 Pontiac and 74 Chev Caprice items though. I still have three AMC, three Dodge, one Dodge truck, two Plymouth, two Chrysler, one Ford, five Pontiac and thirteen Chevy brochures left to sell or trade. All those Pontiac brochures i sold you obviously went to the right guy. Cheers.

I just dug this up recently and it really put a lump in my throat.  Over the years it has been a real pleasure knowing and dealing with good honest decent folks in the hobby and i have to say it really is most people. I do not know what it is about old car folks but they seem to generally be straight honest and interesting folks. Over the last forty plus years, i would have to say that i met so few really bad apples. Obviously other than the wonderful vintage iron, it is the old car folks that keep me loving this amazing hobby of ours. I would not want to live life any other way. Cheers. smile
