I did this once 30 years ago too... and it kept tripping the autoreset headlight breaker, so I got smarter and wired them separately.
But on the 2+2 I'm restoring they not only destroyed the grill with the brackets to mount them, they overloaded the headlight circuit and you can see the melted connector. So I went to harness #2, but it's connector was broken! So on to harness #3, which had a good one that I transferred over.
