Can you make a 64 convertible from a solid 64 4 door post car and a 63 convertible?

How different are the rear quarters and the area from the door post back on a 63 and a 64 on the 2 door?

Are 63 and 64 doors the same on a 2 door?

Is the trunk lid the same 63 & 64?

Don

ambitious project but there was a fellow not far from me that regularly made convertibles from hardtop and post cars. Not sure about 4 doors. As far as I have been told doors and trunk lid are the same quarters are except the center horizontal line in the 64 quarter being far more pronounced.

Best is to get some one with books to compare some part numbers for you

It won't be me doing it, but I've seen a 62 4 door Chevy and a 62 Impala married together. Trunk lid is the same and fender wells are the same. Does the 63 and 64 use the same fender skirts?

Not an answer to your question but,......

In the late 60's I crunched the front end of my 63 SS Impala. I found a 64 4 door Chev cheap and took off the  front end from the 64 (as one piece) and put it on the 63.

Threw the 64  bumper on the car and it looked like it belonged. Body lines matched, and I drove it like that for a year til I found a good 63 Front end for it.

Got a lot of stares, but it kept me driving.

I would think the 63/64 Pontiac would be have a lot of similar body pieces.
