Column Rehab

On my GMC I rebuilt my original column myself, as the non-tilt columns are pretty simple.  On the truck one there was an upper and a lower bearing, which seemed to be the wear parts.

On the car I can only really spot a lower bearing.  What else should be replaced as a wear item inside a steering column at restoration time?

Dave, according to the parts book your column should have an upper bearing, regardless of tilt or not tilt. (Not the same though)

Thanks! Checking my Impala book starting with the info you listed, I find:

Bearing, Steering Shaft Upper - 7800269
Bearing, Steering Shaft Lower Shift Bowl - 7805365
Bearing, Shift Tube Lower - 7805700

All three can be found on eBay by those part numbers, so I'll start at the banner and buy a set of the three!
