i have a number of parts from different 66 Beaumonts but don't know the answe to this one. All I can come up with is the red lens maybe for early cars and light shining through 2 red lenses made it dull so they switched to clear?

Yeah, Ive found both red and clear in a couple Ive had but didnt pay any attention to their build dates.
