Usually when I see 70s now, if I see them at all, they're the US Bonnevilles that are really "busy" with added tail light decoration and so on. I stumbled across this one and thought it was really nice and plain, likely because it's a Catalina.
Back in Saskatchewan in 1970 my Dad had a '69 Laurentian and my grandpa had a green '70 Catalina, so that must have been about the time they cut over to US models?
Growing up in High River AB, my folks had our 70 454 Parisienne, but we knew a couple families with 70 4 dr Catalina's. 70 was the first year you could buy a Cdn or US model. It must have been a nightmare for the parts& service departments.

Don't you remember the standard parts counter guy question "you got a blue block or orange block?"
haha I remember. I worked with an old parts guy at a Chev-Olds dealer and when someone asked for parts for a Cutlass he'd always say "A true Cutlass?" referring to any rear wheel drive version.
Yup, you're probably right, that corner with the bumper is different. So it's not just a different cut pass, it's a different stamp pass too (and that's all I know about stamping!)
