For those who don't know, I work an auto parts counter at what was a GM dealership for over 50 years until those stupid GM cuts in 2009. We operate now under the umbrella of a local GM dealer but aren't officially a dealer.
Today I get a call.
"I'm told you are the guy I should talk to if I need parts for my 65 Pontiac convertible".
"Yes, I can sure help you with that" and we went on to work on an order for him for 4 wheel cylinders, some brake pipes, park brake cable connector and front brake hose clips. Come to find out, I know of him from way back when (70's) when his dad was the nice teacher who gave me a passing grade in chemistry even though I had failed miserably!
He showed me a pic of his car on his phone, and by coincidence I had driven my Strato Chief to work. I NEVER take it to work but today it was in the way of my daily driver, the forecast was great so I took it. I showed him the cowl tag and explained some decoding, also the VIN tag and gave him a Canadian Poncho business card. Hopefully we will see him on here. He was not aware that the Pontiac chassis was Impala and when I explained that he said that explained why his first try at these parts netted the wrong pieces.
