Hello I have found a 1964 convertible parisienne one owner car. It is straight 98% rust free and is complete. Original 327, bench seat, car. It also has original paint. Convertible top will need some work or just replaced. Car has been parked inside for 15 years. Car ran when parked but I know it will need work. Any ideas on a fair price for it?
Thanks for your help.

Strictly a shot in the dark without seeing it, but if it only needs paint and top, $5000-$6000? If it can get by with top only, $9,000-$10,000? Parked for 15 years, likely needs brake/chassis/suspension work though, so if it needs all that, likely $1000-$2000 less?
I would guess a nice driver needing nothing likely brings low teens?

Check the frame especially at the rear wheel well area. This body style is notorious for weak frames. I am parting out a 1963 and have a nos Electron top blue in colour. The 327 should have a carter 4 barrel if it is a 300 hp. Price all depends on condition, if the car spent its life in Montana chances are good the frame is not rotten. Good luck .
Thanks Carl I'm 99% sure I'm going to pick it up. It hasn't been messed with at all. It almost looks like it has been parked for 50 years. The only rust that I could find in the entire car was 2 of the floor mounts under the car had a little rust thru on them .one on the right side and one on the left. The body and bumpers are dent free . The car reminded me of my first car a 1964 GTO when I was 16.

The body mounts behind the rear tires are usually bad on these cars- everything flying off the tires hits them and fills them with dirt which then collects moisture and rusts. It then can rust through into the trunk area. If the trunk and these mounts are good, its a good sign the car was kept in a dry place and is in good shape.
Those floor braces you mentioned also can fill with dirt and then rust, usually at the ends where they meet the rockers.
On a convertible, since the roof always leaks, I'd remove the back seat bottom and check under there for rust. If the floors, rockers, rear wheel wells, and rear quarters are good, its a solid car by Eastern standards. I'd agree with what Carl said on pricing too.
Finding a 64 with a solid body and good interior, plus good chrome is a great find, good luck and post pics.

Mahone Bay, NS Still not old enough to need an automatic
Picked it up and got it home late last night. Got up this morning and cleaned it up a bit. It has a 327 dual exhaust and is a automatic. Power seats, windows, top, steering, brakes. Some rust in the rear quarters but nothing bad. Aftermarket radio that has to go! After about 2 hours got it running and everthing working but didn't have time to look at the power top. Brakes are a little soft not bad after sitting 30 years. The last plate on the car was 1987.
Nice find! What are your plans to deal with the little bit of rust without disturbing the patina? I'm in the same boat.

Nice car with all the power options. If the top is the same colour as the boot cover I have an nos Electron top listed on kijiji Ontario. Soak all the pivot points for the convertible top for a day before trying it. The 63 I bought sat outside for years covered with a tarp and I got the top working after 2 days of soaking with penetrating oil. In 64 the fluid was transmission oil for the top motor in 63 it was brake fluid. The top takes a lot of electricty to open and close and works faster with the engine running. Great score!
Not sure exactly where I'm going to go with it. For right now I'm just going to get it road worthy. If I decide to keep it I've got a great friend who is awesome at body work and paint. It's behind 4 other verticals that I'm currently working on. When I found this car it was just by chance and I couldn't pass it up . The wife didn't warm up to my decision until I cleaned it up and then asked me - - what are you going to do with it?? Right now I'm leaning on getting everything working great and maybe selling it. Might fall in love with it like the 57's and keep it.
Thanks for the information I'll start on the top in a day or two. Couldn't find your top that you have listed?? Could you pm me on it.
Thanks,
Joe
Just my two cents here, you do what you want, of course, but if that is the original paint, DO NOT TOUCH THIS CAR! No body work or paint if its not necessarym and it sure looks from the pics that it is not necessary at all.
people go crazy for original survivor cars especially if you want to resell it. Make it safe and driveable and clean, but keep it as is if possible. That is one great looking vehicle, and the value is in the originality nowadays.
