Just went out in the convertible for over an hour. That's not even fun, it's way too hot.

We finally had a real PEI summer day today. About 24 with a nice breeze and no humidity. Perfect!

We are on a family camping trip to Drumheller, Alberta. 40C for the past three days. We are loving it.wink Perfect weather for checking out dinasaurs, and there is definitely no shortage of top down cruising going on around here. This warm spell reminds of growing up in the 60's, perfect for swimming, boating, barbecuing, sight seeing, and the occasional wobbly pop.smilesmile

Supposed to get a one day break like that on Tuesday, 24, I can't wait.

Here in Regina, there is an old saying that once the Exhibition has come and gone, fall is on its way. Sad to say, this old saying is almost always true. Within a couple of weeks, fall will definitely be in the air and there will be frost warnings in some areas. Fortunately, for those of us out west, there is rarely a humidity factor worth worrying about when it comes to warm weather. I am completely cognizant of the fact that warm weather affects people differently. I guess I am one of the lucky ones who can enjoy 35 - 40 plus degree weather and be perfectly content. It is the cold of our long winters that I do not long for nor like.

Since I was in my 20's I have said I will take -30 any time vs +30 and I sure meant it today when I said it! I'm one of the lucky ones who enjoys winter. Typically when it's -30 here it's sunny and calm.

Too funny! Maybe it's a genetic thing. I can still picture my 90 year old Father wearing his short pants and no shirt, cutting grass with his riding mower on a +35 degree day and loving every minute of it. Fortunately, I suspect that I inherited his genes in that I love the warm and detest the cold. Like my Father, I only wish that our summers were as long as our winters. Come to think of it, this whole love/hate for warm/cold must be genetic. My three sisters share my love of warm temperatures and hatred of the cold. I have noticed, however, that the older some people get, the less they can tolerate the cold or the warm. You were very young to surrender to the warm when you were in your 20's. I've long since surrendered to the cold. Hopefully, the same never happens with the warm. By the way, there is absolutely no offense intended in my comments. I am just stating my preference as are you.

I would love to have 20's and single digit nights right now.

Our niece married a young man from Perth in March and they have a reception here a couple of weeks ago. We showed them Canada isn't always cold like people seem to think! We haven't hit 40 yet but 37 for 2 days in a row and over 30 a bunch of days this summer. I don't know how you stand it when you have summer there!

I think my dad had a lot to do with it. He had pretty dark skin, very much aboriginal in appearance even though he wasn't, and he always complained about the heat. He always said he could dress for winter but you can only undress to the skin in summer and can't do much after that! I grew up being very sick on hot sunny days, to the point of having severe headaches, nausea and throwing up in weather like we have now. I can't wait to get out and blow snow this winter! I might even mumble about the cold just to make those around me happy, but inside I'm loving it when it's winter!

The comments about older people is true. My inlaws both struggle(d) badly with hot or cold. In his 90's my father in law at the care home had to have his room about 25-27 in the summer, he couldn't handle a/c blowing in his room.

You must be a kinder man than I am. Never in my life have I mumbled about warm weather just to make those around me happy.

I find the heat just makes me feel exhausted, and in the winter I feel so refreshed when I get to be outside clearing snow or whatever.

It's a good thing we're not all the same! Life would be boring if that were the case...

I wanted to shift some gears today in my old car but I'm not certain I can handle that kind of heat. I'm thinking the Pony Corral will either be jammed tonight with guys who love heat, or it will be a poor turnout because it's just too hot. Might have to check it out though, we'll see.

Good luck !

The coldest AC is in my 1988.

Today was her last day for this year.

Hit the 305,000 kms mark.

Time to give her a break.

All the fun from here will be 1969 and top down !

I think July was our hottest on record and a good chance August will also be the hottest ever. We had salt water temps in the 20's in early July in Mahone Bay, about a month early, now in the mid 20's high 70's. With humidex, its supposed to be low 30's here this week and 36 one day.
