$_59 (6).JPG

Sold at $3,300

305 engine * Never seen a winter, stored in garage * Blankets cover her body for protection and the interior, blankets covered the seats as well. * My Grandfather waxed her every fall before winter came, and would shine her up every spring and throughout the summer months. * Great working order, runs like a dream and floats down the highway * She has a small dent on the corner of the trunk that we have covered with a decal (bullet holes). The decal can be removed, but you would never know there is a dent in that area. * Colour is actually considered two tone maroon *Re-appraised in 2011 for 7000.00 + HST. She still has original paint, original almost everything (new exhaust pipe and new battery).

Reason for selling - She needs an owner with time to spend with her and show her off, even just for a Sunday drive.

$3,300 OBO

Wagons are "in" now. For $9,000 you could buy a nice Dodge minivan, an older suv, an older Camry, or a real wagon with AC and a lot of money spent on the small stuff. For $3300, that's a real nice car too.

They were both good deals. Even if you needed a daily driver both would be good.

I don't know if the squared off ('77-up) full size have caught on that much in price, but this one looks really good. It might get 9K, but I would think the actual selling price would be a few grand below that, especially given that the seller seems to be in a rush.

The $3300 4-door was an anomaly in that it looked like it was in great shape for a cheap price - and it sold really quickly, which reinforces this.  I would think the sweet spot for these cars would be $5000 - $7000 these days (but I could be wrong)...

I thought this was a post about authenticating a GTO.

The title of the thread is "You be the Judge". If you like GTOs then "Judge" means something special.

Maybe  they thought, "Here comes the judge" (Laugh-In reference).

Either of those big B-body barges are nice examples of respectable cars. I respected these cars when new because they had the space & strong body-on-frame construction, with an eye towards getting rid of excess bulk & size. They were also easier to work on (center stack, diagnostic connectors & modular gauges). No sporty models offered, unless you consider the 79 - 81 Bonneville / Parisienne with buckets & console. The V8s were on a diet & they ditched the decent-sized engines after the CAFE ratings were implemented. Engines like the 350 Chevy (Canada) or 400 Pontiac (USA) were dropped after '79. Clunky & troublesome lockup converters were implemented in '80, but then again so were no-drag disk brakes & smaller a/c compressors.

The wagon may even have one of those corporate 8.75" 10-bolt rears that began on the mid-60s Pontiac big cars. The sedan probably has a corporate 8.5" 10-bolt but be careful, sometimes the wimpy 7.5" was used with engines like the 267 V8. The 7.5" rear was the Vega pumpkin.
