Back when I had my car restored maybe 15 years ago, I lost two things that I wish I'd spec'd them to keep (and in one case, think I did but they missed it):
1) My dealer emblem (1969 Midwest Motors in Regina, SK)
2) My high school parking decal (1982 Miller High in Regina, SK)
For a long time I assumed the dealer emblem would be the thing I missed, but now that I'm old I wish I still had my original high school parking sticker!
Funny what we considered useless vs. valuable. Back in '78 I passed on Bat Outa Hell because it seemed so pretentious. I wish I had bought it anyway.
Dealer emblems were thrown away routinely. My '67 Chevelle had a "Wills" emblem on the back panel that was gone before I got the car. It would be neat to find one today.

My dad was a new car salesman back in the day. I remember him telling me that he once lost a sale because the customer didn't want holes drilled in their new car for a dealer emblem. Before the sale, my dad had instructed the new car prep guys to not install the dealer emblem but for some reason the instruction was lost somewhere in the process or somebody was on auto-pilot, so it got drilled. The customer was put off by the whole thing and went elsewhere.
It's true, though, they were considered worthless back in the day but now they give some credence to the car's lineage or history so they have become a valued commodity.
The high school sticker is understandable - back then you would not have considered it important but as time passes you realize it was part of your personal history with the car. It's unusual for anybody to be able to keep a car that long so it's significant in itself.
BTW, do you have any photos of the sticker? You might be able to get one made up if you did...
when i put a new windshield in my 69 2 yr ago the alberta vehical inspection sticker from 1972 went away it was kinda cool i think we only had inspections for 2 yrs till they scrapped them
