Correct. They were a Chev-Olds dealer when they opened. I do agree it is odd so many dealers were so close to each other. Wood-Larkin Ford was a block away from Thomas Wood Ford.
Willison had both locations at the same time and they originally Lincoln-Mercury-Meteor dealers. The location on Millwood became Donway Ford and then Donway moved to their present location(note Bondy Ford was across the street from Donway)
Never seen that one. Theres another similar one floating around from Heritage Ford. I wonder what the criteria was for the dealer to have it.
No offence taken.

Darryl
LOL... I meant the other Darryl (Pontiacanada), but no offense to you either!
I'm not sure what the criteria would be, but I've read that Wood-Larkin campaigned a drag car, so I'm sure that helped them along.
Chrysler used to host this type of traveling performance clinic as well, but I don't recall hearing of GM doing any - would be interested to know if they did.

You had to be a Ford Performance Corner dealer in order to have that clinic. Wood-Larkin was a Shelby dealer and sold many Cobra Jet Fords as well. I know of at least 2 Boss 429s from that dealer and there is a white Boss 302 from Wood-Larkin that attends the Queensway car meet on Saturdays.
Bondy Ford opened in 1957 at 2000 Eglinton Ave E. Perry Bondy also owned Empire Motors located where Toronto Honda is right now as well.
I am not sure which dealer you are referring to at Millwood? I know there was an AMC dealer there until 1968.
Bondy Motors Limited(Ford-Monarch)
2000 Eglinton Ave E.
And here is another Ford dealer, Paddy Shanahan

Here is a Ford dealer that I bet 99.99% never knew existed. Brimley Motors located at Brimley and Sheppard in Agincourt. They opened in 1957 and closed in 1959. It became Frank Lowry Motors(Chrysler) in 1959 and then Modern Motors(Chrysler) in 1961 and then Agincourt Motors in 1965( which started as a Toyota-Renault dealer and later became a Jeep only dealership, 1 of 2 in Canada) they closed in 1989.

I remember a white Boss 302 in Toronto for years. I remember seeing it in the parking lot of Miller Tavern (3885 Yonge) circa 1980 in showroom condition wearing big & little Cragar S/S wheels & numerous times over the next few years; in 1987 I saw in around Lawrence & Duffering wearing Centerlines. I would bet that the Queensway sighting is of the same car.

I know the current owner of the car bought it in the mid 80s from some used car dealership. I don't imagine there were too many in white so it is probably the same one!

AMC dealer on Millwood was Hamilton-Stiles AMC

I have no idea why Brimley Motors went under but I do know they had new owners when they became a Ford-Edsel dealership in 1958.

My dad bought my 1974 Chevrolet Caprice Estate wagon new at West York Chev/Olds in Toronto. That dealer is no longer there in Toronto any more. I was 16 when my dad bought the car new and i went with him to the dealership to order it. In stead of going through with the order the sales guy convinced my dad to by this car on the lot. My dad fell in love with the combination of bronze and wood grain. The West York dealer tag is still on the tail gate in perfect condition. A side note on the dealer tag is that my dad made it very clear that he did not want any holes drilled in the body for the dealer tag and they did it anyway. I never saw my dad so mad when we went to pick up the car May of 1974, he gave the sales guy a piece of his mind. Today i am glad that the dealer tag is there.
Interestingly, they began as a Lincoln-Mercury-Meteor dealership and made the switch in 1951. I have some old photos of the dealership. I will post when I dig them up.
