Pretty cool...

That's no $50,000 restoration on that car! Wow, look at the detail.

It's a beauty. I prefer the 61's over the 60's as 61's have the canted headlights, but they both have the cool fins.

One of Virgil Exner's masterpieces. Art on wheels.

I'm not sure, but I think initially the buckets swivel'd in conjunction with the opening of the doors.   That caused some guys to almost get tossed out of the door when just opening the door a bit.  That problem got fixed before long.

I kind of know a guy in Cranbrook BC who had a 1962 version of this convertible. I also knew the guy who restored it.

The dashes in the old Chrysler products were the most ornate and futuristic made ever and they made so many different ones.

My cousin is doing a 60 Plymouth wagon, 413 push button, he's looking for the long rams for it if anyone has a spare set kicking around. Worth a lot of money.

That car doesn't have to make excuses for not being a GM!  smile

Those early sixties 300s are real beauties - there used to be one around here (maybe there still is, I just haven't seen it in a long time), but it was a '61 hardtop.  It was a letter series with the long rams, just a piece of driving art.

The instrument bubble was lit by electroluminescence, so it takes on this eerie space-age glow at night.  Really cool!

Always wanted to own one, but they have always been above my price range...

I vaguely remember my grandfather had one of these, (but a hard top, not a convertible). I was maybe 5 years old, so recollection is hazy, but I recall seeing a photo of it. My oldest sister would have the photo - safely stored away for no one to see. The "spare tire" on the trunk was a memorable feature. They were a very impressive car from Day 1.

ONE OF MY FIRST CARS WAS A 61 CHRYSLER.   THE DASH LIGHTING IS SOMETHING TO SEE.
