Great stuff Ray. Did you see the latest episode of Jay Leno's garage?

I'm not a fan of late model Ferrari's but do like the old ones. This owner of this one has had it 52 years. He's 82 years old and I hope I'm as spry as him at that age!

At 82 the money won't mean nothing to him but to pass it down....like George Barris selling the Batmobile for 4.2 million. He died shortly after it sold.

I think the real winner is being able to enjoy the car for so many years. Most likely it will change hands more times than its driven or left out as a coffee table book to sit there.

If Jay buys it (which I highly doubt he will), he would drive the wheels off it. Perhaps Mr.Lee will purchase the car as he is a huge Ferrari collector.

         Nice story.

That was so cool! Breezing around the track with oncoming traffic and pedestrians is something that is unthinkable today. In 1955 there were 83 spectators and a driver killed in the Le Mans disaster.

I love the sound of that big DOHC inline six, pretty exotic stuff for the day. And the British pronunciation of Jaguar has 3 syllables.

Thank you Todd, very impressive story both  the Admiral and the car.
