63 Safari tailgate glass

OK...so I found a nice original glass lift channel....and will be installing it soon....

Looks like the original window was held in with a rubber shim seal.

Read somewhere to use urethane sealant..

Any input before I start the job?

                                    Thanks

Yes this is the way I have replaced all my glass in my impala - put it in and make a mess and when dry take a razor blade and trim it away off the glass it will look perfect
