The simplest classic dash is from the 59-60 Chevy. Working on them is so easy, 2 gauge pods held on with screws on the front, speedo has one fairly easy to access nut on the back, the rest is on the front. Everything falls forward, almost no crawling around upside down and scraping the skin off your hands.
An MGB/Smith gauge fits into one of the pods for mechanical oil pressure and temp in one gauge.

Yes, can you imagine working on some of the dashes pictured above!

It seems like the late fifties/early sixties were the high point for impressive, and perhaps outlandish dashes.
One of my favourites is the '60/'61 Buick "Mirromagic" speedometer. You actually view the speedometer through a mirror that can be adjusted to the height of the driver. A little gimmicky, I agree, but that's also what makes it kinda neat.
While not as elaborate, chrome loaded and funky as a lot of the 59-65 GM dashes were, I find the clean 67 Impala dash to be one of my favorites. A nice tasteful design imop.

I guess I have looked at mine so long I don't find it special
I agree with Don on the 59-60 Chevrolet dash because i love the hooded design. I know there were far more "out there" dash's but the dash on 59-60 Chev's are it for me.

No need for a speedometer in 1910, no speed limit. What is the gauge I wonder, temp was on top of the rad so maybe oil pressure? Needs varnish.
