Brenda Lee

A bit of life, finally, from this poor thing. Owner brought to me with a box of pieces - service provider had taken apart years ago and went AWOL.

Long way to go, but pleased to hear Brenda belt one out. Pardon the messy garage. Wife peeks in and shakes head...

That is cool! On my treat list to get one! Do you need tubes/capacitor's etc of any kind? My dad also repairs old radio's, TV's, etc..but hes getting out of it and hasn't done much in the last 5 years.

Thanks all.

Hawkeye - Yes, I'd like one too - 'bit rich for my blood - hard to find one nice like this one which is very good cosmetically. Much like our cars, there was a time where these would have been

out of style and tacky I suppose, so they'd sit in less than ideal storage or be discarded. This one had a tube missing from the amplifier section, and another with an open filament in the section that searches the memory bank for customer selections. As well, mechanism was jammed up / gummed up with hardened lube. Long long way to go but this bit of life encouraging. Yes, some new capacitors in it's future likely, as well as other things no doubt, plus lots of contacts cleaning     Loving every minute of it.

Take care,

Robert
