1965 rear quarter ashtray variations?

Wondering how they look in the Canadian Pontiacs since my Canadian Impala should be the same and I have 3 different looking ashtray pairs.

Two are NOS GM 4725854 from the bulk crate with spot welds to secure the cigarette rest while others in the same crate have a rectangular notch instead of spot welds like the two used ones pictured.

My rusty used ones the car came with when I bought it 2014 have rivets to secure the cigarette rest.

I just ordered new rear OER brand armrest bases from Classic Industries for the 65, and it says the "stock" ashtrays will not work with the new bases. You have to buy new ones that are $50 each!

Ouch, $50 each for repros?

That's probably $US too, my NOS pairs are $50 Canadian

The armrest ashtrays would be shallower than what I pictured though

Can't you just recover the vinyl and get the plastic bases rechromed or vacuum metalized I think they call it?

$47 USD each actually for the trays.

The bases are about 60 Canadian for the pair. And I think they should be pretty nice. OER stuff seems to be decent. My bases are nasty. Pads are available in the correct colour, but they are about 50 each.

I have a order coming from Classic to CBI Niagara Falls NY PO box next week. So We'll see and report on how they look, and ashtray fitment, etc.
