I got these at our local dump ... I was so thrilled!

I have to research these a bit more, but I think the Irving one (the dollie that is) is older. Does anybody have info. on them off the top of their head?

Once it is warmer (if it ever is) they should clean up nice. I'll probably sell the Texaco one.

Great find! Would make cool shop art.

I'd imagine they'd be a bear to clean though!

Found out they are called lubesters.

Varosol followed up by brake cleaner will do a good job cleaning them. At least there is no rust on them, with that coating of oil/grease.smile

A few inches of frozen water in the Texaco one. I can lift them both easily, so not much in the way of oil/grease.

Thats good, at least you're not dealing with a ton of semi petrified grease.

It will be a springtime thing, so I could clean them outdoors. I'll post pictures of them when completed.

The shop that I apprenticed at bought the same pumps new in 1971. I dont know when they stopped making that pump style, but the barrels are probably no newer than the mid 80s at the latest. The last ones that I remember were from Gulf about 84. After that they came in generic barrels with paper labels.
