My question relates to the 1969 but probably applies to other years. Does anyone know the level of gloss to the blacks used under the hood of the car. I am aware that the heater box is a gloss finish and I believe the rad support is glossy as well. What level gloss are the wheel wells and the firewall. As well when it comes to the brackets, battery tray etc.
Any pics of original nice to pristine underhood compartments?
I'd think the gloss could vary depending on the build date. Who knows on a CP?
But I'm going to go back in my mind to my 69 2+2. And I remember the firewall being close nearly flat black (maybe from age, dirt and heat?) maybe not?, the tubs seemed slightly more semi, and the rad support and accompanying brackets were definitely a little more glossy over all.
Maybe choose 3 close levels of semi gloss for factory appearance and contrast and you could make good.

I invested a bit of time scrubbing a few spots to see what shine would come up. The rad support and heater box are nearly a full gloss, the fender wells are more like a 60% gloss or semi gloss and the firewall is flat. No idea on the frame parts as they are fully covered in surface rust.
