Dave's Work Story

The University of Regina flew me up to give a birthday address for the computer science department's 50th birthday celebration.  I talked about my Microsoft Interview, Internship, Career, and so on.  It's my very FIRST time ever public speaking, and I speak WAY too fast, so bear with me!

Sorry for being off topic, but we're not very high volume in here lately, so it shouldn't be too bad!

Here's the link:

I uploaded my script too so if you click CC you get decent closed captions.

Cheers,

Dave

Interesting story. Always fun to hear of ones life journey and their successes. Very good friend of mine had a project many years ago and met Bill Gates at a very small location in Seattle before Microsoft took off. My friend went a different direction but was also very successful. I posted on here one of the houses I built for him a few years ago.

I've watched a little over half of your story Dave, it's good. Even though you speak quite quickly, I could follow along.

Yup, I speak WAAAY too quickly. You'll see me catch myself, slow down, then get nervous and ramp back up...

If I had the chance to do it 2-3 more times, I think I'd be good at it!  But I need a lot of practice...

Great story, speaking wasn't too fast, cesures made it easy to follow,

Of course I didn't understand most of it as I'm computer illiterate.

My Mavica camera takes floppy discs!!

Thanks
Randy

I like the saying " I'm an analogue man in a digital world".
