If it is a v8 C.S. It should be stamped 7447 on the body tag which is under the hood above the heater box.

Good point, norontcan. In Bill's case, since his CS is a convertible, there should be a 47467 ------ at the beginning of his vin number. Actually Bill, I have seen your '64 and do believe that yours is an authentic CS.

The rest of the numbers on the data plate, which is on the firewall, will give us much more info to decipher.
Post the numbers, or a pic of the tag, and we'll give the numbers a go.
Suspect your car is an early production but the date is on the tag.
You should really consider getting the GMVVS package for the car.

Style 7467 is exactly what started this thread 8 cyl Parisienne Custom Sport convertible
2.9.25 = date of manufacture = second shift, 9th month ( September ) 25th day so as summized above an early car
top 10 is the colour of the convertible top
trim 270 is the interior = saddle and is a code used only on the Custom Sports
Paint is most probably S which is Saddle Bronze Metalic ( this is from an American sheet so the Canadian name may differ slightly but the paint code or mix formula will be the same ) or T which is Singapore Gold metalic
B70 =padded dash
M35 = powerglide
U63 = push button radio

The GMVVS documents will tell you the number of V8 Custom Sport convertibles built but won't break it down any further such as engine size or transmission type.

On the posted GMVVS document that is one of very few I've ever seen where they went to the trouble of further breaking down the V8 number into also an engine size and 4 spd combo. So 2915 Custom Sport convertibles were made with V8s and of those 200 were 327s with a 4 speed transmission.

Thanks also for posting the swatch page for Canada. In Canada GM used 1 set of codes and usually kept the name the same across their entire line. In the US they used 1 set of codes but a 1964 code S for example would be Saddle tan metallic on a Chevrolet, bronze mist metallic on a Buick, Saddle mist metallic on an Oldsmobile and saddle bronze metal on a Pontiac.
