Well after sleeping on it haha I decided to not use the QJ from the 64 better keep that intake and carb together besides being old its huge ,,Have a friend that has a 73 QJ for me so better go that route ,tmrw HEI ,,can't wait to see how it run then.
hahaha Well gees can't figure out why my gasket from the stock intake won't work on the newer..DUH...sometimes I really wonder about me..haha..Thinking the new will make a difference though ?
Re your points distributor, what's wrong with it? Points are still available, but they have gone up in price. Same with cap, rotor and condenser, all available. I've even got the GM number for the proper spark plug wires that have the front 4 wires run down through the motor mounts for the stock look.
Don't forget to run a full 12 volts to the HEI distributor. The existing wiring harness includes a resistive wire between the firewall connector and the distributor that acts as a ballast resistor.
Dam thanks Clint..my plan was to take the 2 wires that were on my old coil .wire them to a thicker wire and plug it into the HEI....BUT I quess thats not going to work..Thank you for that, saved me some more sleepless nights haha..So I quess fuse box to HEI or ??
