Your '70 looks really nice. I like the 1st pic with the proper V8 badge and the lowered stance. The colour is nice, the clean simplicity is nice, plus it's an Acadian!

Thanks for the comments.
Top pic is after new suspension. Rides like it on rails now.
Bottom pick was on way home, in Minnesota. 47 year old
suspension.
Emblems on top are correct for 70 V8 Acadian.
Bottom call out are for daNova's .

Behold.
I have found them. The last 2 pieces of missing emblems to complete the car.

These were sitting in a buddies tool box for the last 30 plus years.

For their age they are absolutely mint.

Carl.
So true brother.
Car guy helping out another car guy.
Doesn't get any better than that.

I traded a mint 68 69 Nova tail panel for these. He needed that piece. I need these.
And the stories over a coffee were priceless!!

Win/win.

Stuff like that makes this hobby fun. And you're right, the coffee breaks can be the best part sometimes.

I've never enjoyed the car hobby more than my time in it after this forum started. The group of old car guys I know has expanded so much because of this place.

I can't even imagine how hard it is to find Acadian door panel emblems.

My favourite Sales Brochure car from 1970, it clearly illustrates the 1970 engine call outs:

Of course GM Canada just edited the photo for 1971 with wire wheels and a new engine call out and a red SS in the grille (did that make production?):

Ray.
There is a bonifide 71 Acadian out here that I have seen. It has the Chevy call outs.
Too bad.
They just aren't as eye catching as the 70. Or the girl in the pass seat!!

Notice she hasn't aged a bit from 1970 to 1971!

Believe me on this. It sure has been my Fountain of Youth.
Only I can't drive it the way I would have when I was 16 17 or 20 something.

Oh, just drive it like you would have!

Last week I had my Strato Chief out in the driveway, getting ready to go out on the highway and peel some rubber off... My next door neighbour the RCMP officer was just heading off to work his shift and saw me getting in to my car. I told him "I guess I won't head south on the highway" knowing he would be headed that way to the detachment he works out of. His reply was "No, you better go south, because you know it will be your neighbour out there!"
