place in order of desirable Beaumonts


when I get thinking about thinning the herd , I wonder what ones to keep and what ones to let go. I'm interested to know how others would place these cars

1- 65 Beaumont SD hard top black with slat interior 327 Auto

2- 66 Beaumont SD convertible dark blue with ivory/black interior 283 Auto

3- 65 Beaumont SD convertible yellow with black interior six Auto

4- 65 Beaumont SD hard top evening orchid with black interior 283 Auto

5- 65 Beaumont SD hard top Maroon with tan interior 283 Auto

all 5 need total resto`s

 No in fact I was doing some office work and before wrapping up figured I have a look and see what was going on. No one had posted anything for Kevin so I quickly read the list and made my decisive decisions, I know how it feels when people don't respond to posts so I was trying to be a nice guy, then I signed off and wrapped up my work. He hadn't asked for any rationale so that was easy. I can write several hundred words I'm sure to explain my rankings but no one is interested in that.

 Thanx for getting things started Ray and thanx to others for thier input. It seems the Evening Orchid colour is popular. I was thinking the 327 300 hp car may have been a strong contender followed by convertibles

If this were my choice, I would keep one of the convertibles and get rid of the hard tops. Since they all require serious restoration, color is a non event. It is pretty difficult to turn a 2 door hard top into a convertible. Since you have a choice, convertibles give you the best of both worlds. Believe me, as the owner of several convertibles over the past 35 years, there is nothing that can compare.

My order above in red.  I'm making the assumption that the 327 car is an original 327 car.  Also chosen on the basis that condition of each car is pretty much the same (which is almost never the case).

Depending on my mood on any given day, I might elevate the evening orchid car up a notch, but still a yellow convertible has a lot of appeal as well.  I think I almost always would pick a convertible over a hardtop, but the 327 is a huge deciding factor over the six (which I still like, but the 327 is, well, a 327).  Colour is important as well, in a restoration situation, but I still will prioritize function (strong V8 or top that comes down) over form.  If any of them had a manual trans, that might have influenced my ranking as well.

Well now I know why I get texts from you in the middle of the night. How can any sane man sleep with those kind of decisions? Your brother with the 64 convertible will give you some good advice! Glad you have a little dilemma there Kevin.
