He's been trying to sell it for a while, and I think someone posted it here a couple months ago. It's quite pricey, but I'll have to see what isn't working as it could possibly be an easy fix. The missing bezels are fairly easy to attain.

I'm hoping the tuning knob works ok. There's a clutch that prevents the tuning knob from spinning when the buttons are depressed, but once the clutch is worn out the tuning knob doesn't move the pointer very well. His price is still on the high side.

I asked him to check the tuning knob as to whether it consistently moves the pointer. No reply yet.

I have one that I picked up as a fresh rebuild from the PDX swap meet a couple years back, that I'd sell for just about the same money...
no knobs though - but they should be easy enough to get.

I read a thread a while ago which spelt out the number of cars per model with options like that - these are pretty rare.

Yes, soldering, contact cleaning, capacitor replacement - maybe alignment.

Seller being honest at least. So often, with radios, 'untested' - 'worked when pulled in 1932' is thrown about.

Then there's air conditioning or cruise in a car advert - 'haven't tried it'

Got a reply, he says tuning knob consistently moves the pointer back and forth. Price is still high, but lets see if I can swing a deal.

Radio showed up last Thursday. Very nice condition, but no volume.

Today I took it to a buddy who does radio repair on the side. Problem was found to be the switch inside towards the back of the unit that switches from AM to FM. It switches the antenna lead, power and pre-amp audio between the AM & FM boards to the amplifier board. It was dirty, so a good blast of contact cleaner fixed it up.
