Lot Shots 1969 Pontiac Laurentian

I was online recently and came across an article titled "Lot shots find of the week: 1969 Pontiac Laurentian"

Turns out it was my car!  Back in August I was in Ohio for the Pontiac Nationals and I dropped by the Summit Racing store.  While I was in the store somebody must have taken some pictures of my car and they decided to blog about it.  Here is a link if anyone is interested.

I'd like to hear how he pronounces Laurentian. They usually say "Lauren Teen"

Your car has been immortalized. At least you didn't walk out to see a model sprawled across your hood. That happened to me once years ago. I walked out to my motorcycle and there was a woman posing for a camera shoot on my bike.

I guess I just take it for granted that by now almost all the US car guys are aware of our unique Pontiacs but that certainly is not the case yet. We still have work to do!

I still encounter Canadians at cruise nights who say its not a real Pontiac when looking at the Chevrolet engine. We just have to accept that we own rare and unique cars and educate those we meet.

Sure do. Little story here. A couple of years back I was in Hershey and came across a booth selling memberships in a Pontiac club. It was a nice afternoon and I had on a T shirt with a pic of my 65 CS on it. Well that was just the intro they needed to extol all the values associated with joining their Pontiac club. When pressed to identify the car on my shirt neither of them could identify the model. Oh, they knew the year but were stumped after that. They guessed that it was a mixed breed but I assured them it was a 100% original. Time to move to the next booth

Ironically, US Pontiacs became Canadian Pontiacs eventually, even Firebirds!!

Thanks

Good stuff Claude!

You should reply to the story with some fun facts and fill in Canadian Poncho as your website.

I love the clean, unadorned look of the Laurentian. This is one of my very favorite cars on this forum!

I personally wish it had dog-dish caps or rallys on it since it's so close to stock, but I get the need to personalize as well!

Thanks!  Agreed that rally wheels would look good on it.  I still have the original wheels and hubcaps too.
