Old Family Movies - Canadian Pontiacs

I recently found some old family movies from before my time... I was surprised to find 4 Canadian Pontiac's in the family. A 1960, 2 1964's and a 1965. I took this crappy snap shot of the one of the 64's on the TV screen. I am working on bringing them into the computer to get some better snap shots of the car.

While this is not great quality, my wife and I were shocked to learn that this was my great Grandparents car that they packed up and moved to Florida with. Who knows if it survived in Florida or not.

What are the chances that years later My wife and I would purchase the same type of car?

Very cool.

I have my families old 8mm films, they include a 56 Chevy Bel-Air 4 dr hdtp, and a 57 Olds. The folks next had a 61 Chrysler, but I don't think it made it into the movies. I'm planning on sitting down in the next couple months and organize the films, and get them bumped to DVD. I've got a couple reels where 2 or 3 short movies were spliced together back in the 50's or 60's, but the splices have come apart. I've got splicing tape, but these films haven't been seen in 40+ years.

We also have a bunch including some dad took at St.Thomas dragway in the 1950's. They are starting to deteriorate so I too should do something with them.

Somehow it got ingrained in your mind?
