I don't know where to start..I grew up less than a block from the CPR in a small town in the Fraser Valley. Always hung out at the tracks as a kid..My olde Mom was there..sometimes lol Any way the man who lived right beside the tracks, who was our school principal built scale steam trains in his basement! He hadroughly the same scale track right around his yard complete with trestles. I say had..tracks still there ..he's all gone. He was our school janitor. Manufactured every piece in his basement! During our fall fiar and corn festival he would set up and take kids for rides..Great memories. I'll start a new post and show you what crazy stuff I get up to..Thanks for this Todd
The real one is on display at the St.Thomas railway museum. The museum needs a lot of financial help as it's in the old locomotive works building and the roof is caving in. Many of the displays are off limits due to safety hazards. Very sad to see .
I was last there in 2009.
You don't realize how huge these trains are until you stand next to them. That's my son (all grown up now)!
The locomotive back in the day at the Toronto yard (1954)
St. Thomas ... is there anything on the Jumbo The Elephant accident there?
