Well, had a glitch at the last minute with my trailer guy so I bit the bullet and did what every other half sane car guy would do! Went to Kelowna with my honey and drove the 63 home! It hasn't been on a road trip since 1976. We loaded up all the goodies tied the heater hoses together bypassing the heater core, tightened up a leaky gas line at the carb and hit the hiway. We landed a spare back bumper,9 extra hubcaps, spare factory radio, original 4bbl carb ,5 stock steel 6" rims with wider offset, extra fender trim, glass rubbers amongst other bits and pieces. 75 to 80 Mph all the way! Man what a cruise. My wife shadowed me in our Escape. That little 283 with 103 thou miles on it just purred all the way home. She's now safely in her new home where the tinkering can begin. So the first thing I did was get the numbers off the cowl tag....Paint Q which I believe was called Marlin Aqua for 63 Pontiac.Marine was the chevy name I think...same code had different names depending on make. Trim 944..Haven't located exact description here. B.S.O.(body special options),I read somewhere, as follows; D55=console, A50= buckets ,B70=padded dash, U63= push button deluxe A.M. only radio, and X55 which I've only found in reference to 67,8,9 Camaro trim/bright work options.. Now I'll pull the pesky heater core and find the truth! Which of course I'll post here
'64 Parisienne CS "barn find" - last on the road in '86 ... Owner Protection Plan booklet, original paint, original near-mint aqua interior, original aqua GM floor mats, original 283, factory posi, and original rust.
Glad it all went well, you smiled for the whole drive home I bet?

Yup I had a grin goin for sure...especially after I made it so to speak. We went from Winter to Summer in one day! Kooky climate change I think. Kelowna has grown leaps and bounds since I went to trade school there many years ago. Took my Cutie out to the Keg for Dinner. Good food . Great cruise.
