Cool stuff found at an antique mall

Hi,

My wife and I spent a snowy cold afternoon at an antique mall near us (in London) and lucked out with some neat finds.
These will end up in my "man cave" on a shelf eventually.

Surprisingly, my wife found most of these because she had some attachment to them :

"Johnsons car was cream" she found because her grandmother was a "Johnson", spelled the same.

The "Sunoco" matches she found because she grew up with a Dad who owned a Sunoco station for years in Sarnia

The "Sunoco" prints I picked up because I thought they were cool and the connection to my father-inlaw.

The "tape measure" she found because it matched the colours of the Sunoco matches. After she showed it to me, I realized it had
the Canadian Pontiac and Buick emblems on it. Cool.

The "Preston" emblem I grabbed because I thought it was cool. I did a little digging and discovered they made streetcars in Preston, Ontario

Anyway, it was a fun afternoon, didn't cost much money, and added some interest to my man cave.

Cool finds! Check the bottom of those matches. If it says "Strike Rite Matches" there's a good chance my dad printed those.

"Eddy Match Co. Ltd. Toronto Ont."

Too bad, I was hoping they were printed by your dad.

On the back, it says "BILL'S SUNOCO SERVICE, Stratford, Ont".

Interesting items. Items such as these often start a trip down memory lane.
