Somebody didn't want to take the time to route the spark plug wires correctly through the engine mounts.

Carl I noticed that on my 327 .I don't think or like the idea of the wires running through the mounts either.real pain if I want to change them in the future unless I buy ones I have to put ends on,,to lazy for that

It's actually not that tough running them through the mounts. Its a little bit of a tight fit for the boot to fit through between the back of the mount and the block but it slides through okay. And it looks SO much better.
