Well after viewing this great video just had to share some news with club members! This car was posted on Kijiji and after doing lots of research thought it would be nice to own. It is a 1965 Mercury Park Lane Convertible with a documented 26,330 original miles. There is a story that goes with it but since it is a F**D product probably not too many would be interested! However if feed back is positive I would be pleased to share it! No did not sell the 58 it is still in my garage with the "Queen Mary" Sorry for the large pix perhaps someone can reduce them. Thanks from Bob.
This is one car that i have never chummed up to. By the way i meant the 62 Lincoln not the 65 Merc. I have always been a big fan of the 1956 Lincoln, now there was class.

WOW! Bob, what a stunning, classic automobile. PLEASE fill us in on the history of this luxury cruiser. The name, Mercury Park Lane, is classic as well. I absolutely love the typical Mercury lines, complete with a gorgeous dash, buckets, console and, best of all, a convertible.
QUINTESSENTIAL. Congratulations on your new ownership of this beautiful piece of history.
I've always been a fan of the '61-'63 Lincoln Continentals - they were definitely the cleanest of the 'big 3' luxury designs of the early sixties - they had an elegance of simplicity that IMHO looks fresh to this day.
IIRC, I remember reading that they shared chassis, cowl and windshield with Thunderbirds of the era as well.
I was less of a fan of the '64-up as I didn't like the way they squared off the roofline and side window line. It seemed to take some design continuity out of it to my eyes.

Bob, I'd love to hear more of your lovely survivor Park Lane. I know it's a Pontiac site, but we are all car guys here, and who doesn't like seeing a minty-fresh 54-year old convertible!!
Please share the details with those of us who are interested...
Hi Bob
Yes please tell us what you have been able to piece together of the story behind this car.
In 1965 I was turning 18 years old and living in Kapuskasing so remember the car and owner.
Once I know what you already know then perhaps I can add to the story or do some research on it with friends in Kap.
