Giant Yellow Ignition Coil

Ran on my 67 for a few years.

Replaced with Petronics.

Old school look

Ten Whole Dollars just to send it to a new home.

Cliff, good call on the Pertronix conversion because it is the best way to go.

Yes, I have one as wall art in my car shed. Don't open it up as it is full of stinky cooling oil!

Wasn't that called the "Supercoil" or something like that?

Dumb question, you say it was replaced with Pertronix. Doesn't a Pertronix conversion still need a coil? I thought Pertronix just replaced the points & condensor.

Yes

Accel

Did some searching and came up with this description

Accel 140001 Original Super Coil Point Ignition Coil

ACCEL's original Super-Coil is engineered for faster rise time, longer spark duration, and a noticeable increase in performance. Its unique design, premium-grade wire, low resistance, and high-turns-ratio windings produce higher spark energy with breakerless electronic ignition systems. For points-ignition applications, use the included 0.85-ohm ballast resistor in conjunction with the vehicle's original ballast resistor (if it's so equipped). An oversize molded case with integral cooling fins, together with the Super-Coil' high-capacity, oil-filled construction, ensure high thermal conductivity, cool operation, and long life. The extra-tall tan Alkyd tower and integral voltage dam eliminate flashover to primary terminals. This coil comes complete with all mounting hardware and the supplied 0.85 ohm ballast resistor and is effective up to 6,500 rpm.

Petronics had their own coil to go with the points conversion.
