Parade boot clip trim question

Trim question. The stainless trim which has the clips for the parade boot to attach to which goes along the rear lip. Does it have a rubber seal or sealant between it and the body? ANd what type of screws are used? Are they clasps like the rest with screws through them which also hold the trim down? TIA

Sorry Phill can't help ya, never had them off. I can have a look in the body manual and see what it has to say.

Mine did not have any seal, not really a need for it. As for the mounting screws, they go through the snap and the trim to mount to the body. I used small stainless flat head metal screws.

Well that explains why my trim sticks up a bit on the corners. Those snaps on mine are held on with short machine screws and nuts. Not actual screws going into the body.

I don't know if it is correct, but how it was and how I re-did it. One thing, ensure the screws are not too long or the tip will contact the roof material.

I pulled this same stainless trim off a 68 Parisienne convertible some years ago, and it didn't have any seal to the body. I think the theory is that any water that gets past it will be captured by the plastic rain gutter below it, and expelled from the car.
