Ok, someone slap me on the side of the head and explain to me this here situation. This looks like a really sweet vintage piece of iron and why so freaking cheap. Are our cars really worth so.............. nothing.

We're getting old George, we need to realize that the passion for our cars is not there like it was 20 years ago. It's a lot smaller crowd than it used to be.

That sums it up pretty well.

I don't think there's any way to change the trend, I think we just have to accept it.

Carl, i think i am just going to go out kicking and screaming. The interesting thing though, is that there are more and more car events and they are getting bigger and better all the time. At least in the southern Ontario and western New York area's. There does not seem to be any slowing down in the old car world from i am standing but it is mostly older guys like us and so few younger folks. I am going to enjoy it and be a big part of it until health changes all that down the road. Cheers.

I would say our car shows are thriving but the era we are most interested in (maybe mid 70's and older?) is not as well represented as it used to be and certainly the average age of attendees is rising. Lot of gray hair at the shows!

I would say there's no point in worrying about it.  Like everything else in life, things come and go.  What's popular now probably won't be in 20 years, but who cares?  Live for the day and enjoy what you like.  None of us will be here forever.

Exactly. Just because nobody else enjoys what I drive, I DO!

LOL, not everyone, there's some who thought it was better as a 283 3 speed bolt action!

As a 283 3-speed, was it more original? Yes.  Was it a rare survivor? Yes.

Was it 'better'?  That's up for debate as extra cubes and an extra gear are always a good thing. I'm sure most people on here would prefer driving it with 427 and 4 gear, so yes there was some loss in the sense of it being a piece of Canadian Pontiac history, but as a mechanical device built for driving it is most definitely better.

Besides you went to great pain and effort to make it look original by looking after the details, and left it so it could easily be put back to a 283 3-speed if somebody wanted to (nobody will)... so I don't think it would ever be easy to say it's not better now... at the end of the day, your opinion is the only one that counts anyhow... it's your car, your money, your efforts... so enjoy!

Most and i do mean most of the car shows i go to in the southern Ontario area are still mostly 30's, 40's, 50's. 60's and 70's cars but i have noticed that modified cars of all these decades has increased big time. At this point i honestly see no decrease or slowing down in interest in the old car hobby, if anything just major increase. So that is positive but of course it is mostly boomers like our selves. Obviously this is all going to change in the next 10 or more years, so for now i am going to keep on enjoying what i love to do with my two oldies. Cheers.
