Love it! There's something similar here in PEI for sale:

This one has 52000 miles and is $12500. I like yours better!

Quirky design, and "the leaning tower of power" (first showing of the great engine).

My uncle won one of these (actually, a Plymouth Valiant) in an early '60s radio contest.

Yes! Link worked fine. Gotto watch that movie straight through.

Always wanted to have something with a slant 6. I remember as a youngster in Winnipeg, they were everywhere, Darts, Valiants, clattery sixes and wheezy starters that

ran forever.

Carl, I'm sure my car boosted Pontiac sales that year.

All the best everyone - Happy Canada Day!

Love it.  One of Virgil Exner's last kicks at the can at Chrysler.  There was a nice black one around here last year for sale.

Have had many slant sixes over the years.  Always ran great, not rockets, but got you where you needed to go.  Even raced one (in a Volare) on the oval track a number of years ago - couldn't blow it up.

Congrats on the new acquisition!  I'm sure you will enjoy it!  :)

Which this car is not.  Unusual, yes, but not fugly.

...but then I like '61 Plymouths... your mileage may vary.

And yes, I'm jealous of Robert's fleet!  smile

Lots of people think a 59 chevy or pontiac is ugly, but they grow on you and you don't see them every day so they are interesting to see, like your 4 door. When I was 16 I had a 52 Plymouth 2 door hardtop, at 17 a 61 Valiant 3 on the floor and slant 6. Only had 1 Dodge since, 87 Dakota, I'd love to have another Dakota.

My grandfather had one of those 62 Dodge Darts, 4 door, 6 cyl, auto, ps, no radio, which he bought new. It was his last car.

At the time I thought it was ugly like my other grandfather's new 62 Valiant sedan, also 6 cyl. auto, PS. But at least they were new cars - something we never had growing up - and over time they grew on me. Plus Chrysler did, in my opinion, greatly improve the design of these cars from 1963 onward. This grandfather's last car was a 68 Dart 270, which I really liked and which subsequently became my mother's car until it disintegrated on the early 80s in our damp climate.

I see this Dart for what it is, a very nice survivor and something to be enjoyed.  Congratulations.

The first thing I thought of when I saw the '62 was Spencer Tracy in that zany star-studded 1960's movie. It was a race to find "The Big W" and the money buried beneath it.

That '62 is quite a survivor. To think that 45 years ago or so I used to see them on their last legs or as derby cars. It is a relief to see that not all have been taken by time. Miss Anne (Hathaway?) is a perfect name for your Dart.

Hey there Todd.

Had been gone over mechanically after decades of slumber - before I bought it. I had it painted, some minor body work requited - no rust, just some dings and scrapes.

Installed thin white walls as the tires on it were decades old, still had the old numbering system, 6.95-14 or something like that. Goes along nicely and I love the wheezy

sounding starter. Sounds like Fred Flinstone's dog.
