I have a hunch there is a one owner big block one for sale in Victoria. Sure looks like the fellow who started up Canadian Chevelles and Beaumonts. He passed away earlier this year and the car sure looks like his but I may be mistaken.

Don Earnshaw resigned suddenly and passed a few weeks later close to New Years. From my dealings he was a nice gentleman. He bought his '67 SD396 new after his '56 Chevy had problems. Don's SD was black inside & out. It had no vinyl roof cover. It may have been manual steering, power front disk brakes, 3.55 Positraction, M20, L34. He kept it the rest of his life. The club folded soon after his passing, though there were many people who donated time & effort.

Rick Mitchell bought a '67 SD-396 new in Galt or Cambridge. Antique Pewter with same drive-train as Don's, also with p/s & vinyl roof. Still has it and it is factory stock, though mods in the past were made then undone.

There must be a few Malibu SS stories out there as well.

Well, Cameron, I thought this would never happen in my life time.  Your knowledge and memory always astounds me and I'm sure you must have close to a photographic memory but I think I have a challenge for you on Don's car.  It is a darker blue, I'd almost say a navy blue on the outside, but not sure what the inside was.  I did see it a few years ago when I took in the Qualicum Beach Father's day show.   There was a very similar car advertised within the last few weeks for around 50g. on the Island and I thought it may well be his as it also was this color.  I couldn't find it tonight on a couple of the sites so not sure if it sold or has been pulled off the market.  So just a small detail but on a car that he had owned since new, and yes when I met him he was indeed a nice gentlemen.  I remember when I met him he asked "so who are you with" and I quickly answered Revenue Canada, so I quickly found out what kind of guy he was.
